Recent interest has moved to installation and addressing an attraction to banal and aesthetically ‘low’ materiality. For example, foldaway boxes made with cotton voile and starch which are unsustainable and not intended as containers; an apparently commonplace joining of materials creating an ambiguous expression of space, sited incongruously.
