Our vision
Things are changing at Crescent Arts... but our vision is clear; to support and promote contemporary visual arts in Scarborough and beyond, for the benefit of artists, visitors, participants and our members. We support emerging, developing and leading artistic talent and seek to enhance access to the visual arts for a wider public, irrespective of social circumstance, difference or ability.

Gallery
Crescent Arts is opening its new gallery at Woodend Creative Workspace in The Crescent later in 2008. We will continue to present a challenging and innovative programme of contemporary work in Scarborough by artists based regionally, nationally and internationally.
Studios
Our studios will continue to be housed in the basement of Scarborough Art Gallery. We offer studio space for up to seven artists at any one time. Resident artists benefit from subsidised rates for studios, equipment, facilities and resources as well as from professional support and training opportunities. Artists can also gain experience in educational work, business and administration skills. They also have the chance to exhibit work in the new gallery or in our existing project space.

Open access facilities
Our facilities, also located in the basement of Scarborough Art Gallery, include photography, printmaking, and ceramics and our resident artists can deliver a range of creative workshop activities. We aim to enhance access to the visual arts by offering facilities to our members, and to a range of communities, schools, colleges, and universities. We provide a supportive, empowering, safe and creative environment for all participants.
