Three British and three Italian artists celebrate their respective landscapes, providing the public with fascinating comparisons between their styles as well as the scenery.

The work ranges from the little known lush Ligurian hills to the starkness of the Moors, from idyllic Mediterranean coastline to the dramatic cliffs and seascapes around Scarborough, bringing some Italian warmth to us in mid-winter.

Helen Donnelly, Richard Clare and Philip Turner all take their inspiration from rugged Moors and North Yorkshire coastline they live with, yet their styles are excitingly different. They share this interpretation of their environment with established Italian artists Dino De Simone and Paolo de Nevi whose careers have taken them even further along abstract route. Josine Dupont focuses on the charming scenery around her home near Portofino.

The exhibition moves to Castle Howard from 1st 5th March 2006
