Scarborough Painters' Group

An exhibition from September 26th to October 20th 2007
Tuesday to Saturday 10 - 1pm & 2 - 5pm
Free Admission

We are delighted the Scarborough Painters' Group have accepted our invitation to exhibit a selection of their recent works at Crescent Arts. The Scarborough Painters' Group began in 2000 as an off-shoot of the BA in Painting at Scarborough Campus, but has since been joined by painters with no connection to its origin.

Members of the Group meet once a month to present new work, talk about the work of other members and to discuss ideas current in the visual arts.

'There is no defining aesthetic, just a shared belief that painting is still one of the most challenging, expressive and daring ways of communicating in the visual world'.

The members have been instrumental in setting up and sustaining weekly life-drawing classes at St James’ Arts Centre. A selection of the works produced at these sessions will also be included in the show.

This exhibition will prove a great opportunity to view the diverse talent of various artists working and living in our area.
