Youth arts outreach

Crescent Arts’ youth arts outreach programme ran from July 1997 to April
2003.

Making a mural at the Home and Dry project Printmaking at Edgehill

The main aim of the youth arts outreach programme was to increase access
to the world of visual arts by:

  • encouraging and supporting the participation of young people, aged 10
    to 25, for whom access to the arts is not traditionally available;
  • offering activities to new audiences in partnership with existing youth
    organisations
  • inspiring creative potential, building self esteem and raising achievement
  • equipping young people with social, administrative, managerial and artistic
    skills and experience
  • appropriately motivating, supporting and encouraging young people to take
    up further education, training and employment in the arts.
