Tracy Himsworth

I am a sculptor and installation artist. The idea of appropriation and the found object has always been central to my practice. I create environments which are comprised of hybrid objects that often suggest a particular function or allude to mechanical and anthropomorphic forms. The dialogue between the forms is set up by their positioning and through their contrasting tensions. Materials are selected and reframed, placing emphasis on tension and weight. This is reflected in the sculptures being suspended, propped or wrapped.
