In the heart of Dalby Forest with Susie Green

Walking, Drawing and Talking in the heart of Dalby Forest with artist Susie Green in response to her Exhibition Queen Green on at Woodend Gallery; here's how it went...

On Saturday we were treated to a very special event as our first workshop with Susie Green took place in the luscious heart of Dalby Forest.

However before this took place, we started off the weekend’s events with our first film screening of ‘Water Makes Us Wet: An Ecosexual Adventure.’ Click here to find out more about the 2017 production by Beth Stephens & Annie Sprinkle.

Our workshop with Susie began with a short reading session, with some excerpts of ‘Assuming the Ecosexual Position: The Earth as Lover’ of which Susie’s work in Queen Green is deeply inspired by.

Following that we ventured out on one of Dalby’s many intertwining paths with our clipboards in hand, using the classic children’s game ‘Consequences’ we drew an abstract starting point for our nature inspired hybrid creatures taking in the experience around us.

From that we made our way back to the workshop and began to finalise our nature inspired hybrid creatures into a polished piece of artwork using collage and drawing techniques similar to that of Susie’s work.
