A group of young artists from Scarborough Sixth Form spent a week collaborating with artist Martha Cattell and Crescent Arts curator Joel Hague to develop the new exhibition Desire Lines. Through experimenting with different media and approaches, the exhibition explores the impact of our individual and collective interactions with the environment around us and how these interactions can manifest through image, sound, and mark-making.
This project is part of an ongoing relationship between Crescent Arts and Scarborough Sixth Form College, as part of our commitment to supporting the professional development of young people locally, the students are invited to come to Woodend gallery and work alongside artists and curators to
The project is inspired by Beach of Dreams. This nationwide coastal arts initiative explores our coastlines’ unique heritage, cultures, and possible futures in the face of the climate emergency.
This exhibition is supported by Scarborough Sixth Form, Scarborough Museums and Galleries and North Yorkshire Council. This exhibition is funded by Arts Council England.
